LATEST NEWS FROM THE TAMAR TROTTERS
Could this summer change your life?
Couch to 5K is a fantastic programme that's been designed to get just about anyone from the couch to running 5 kilometres in the space of 10 weeks. It is an international programme, but we’re launching our own version right here in sunny Saltash. This is open to complete beginners, those thinking about a return to running or someone who might have been injured and wants to steadily return to hitting the roads once again. Starting on Friday July 7th, you’ll work with our experienced leaders to steadily build your fitness and – we hope – successfully complete your goals.
Meet at the Saltash Rugby Club on Fridays by 6pm for a 6:15pm start
There is more information through the link below, or for more information, contact John Smith 01752 844281 or 07946 453215.

New Committee voted in
Following the AGM on Friday 24th February, we have a new committee who will be guiding the club for the coming 12 months. There is a mixture of familiar faces and new ones, but all with the shared goal of making the club the best it can possibly be this year and beyond. At the moment, we still have no Social Secretary or Vice-Captain, and if you are interested in filling one of those roles please don’t hesitate to get in touch. And if you have any suggestions or queries about the club, these are the people who might be able to answer them:
Chairman – Alan Williams
Treasurer – John Smith
Secretary – Sheila Newman
Club Captain – Vince Pitman
Membership Secretary – Helen Roper
Juniors’ Captain – Colin Bunting
Club Development Officer – Steve Baker
Welfare Officer – Helen Ralph
General Committee Members – Dean Barrett, Ed Buckingham, Karen Kenworthy, Alan Macauley, Sam Rogers, Simon Ryan, Diane Swallow
London Marathon trip
As many of you will know, 2017 will be Sue Court’s final year of organising our trip to the capital each April. Between them Sue for the past five years, and Colin Bunting for around a decade before that, have done a fantastic job of ensuring that runners and supporters from our club and many others have a great weekend in the Big Smoke. However, we do now face a difficult choice – do we continue to organise a trip to London each year, or do we choose one of the many other spring marathons and look to do something different? Your ideas would be very welcome. Just drop us a line and let us have your thoughts.
New Tuesday nights training schedule
Those of you who have been to Tuesday's club nights over the past couple of weeks will know we have made some changes to our training plans. This is part of a 13-week schedule put together by our Club Development Officer Steve Baker designed to improve our spring marathon and half marathon prospects. There has been some great feedback so far and hopefully you're looking forward to what the next few weeks have in store. You can find out more about the plan and join the conversation about it in our news Tamar Trotters Training Tips Facebook page.

2017 Club Grand Prix under way
The 2017 Club Grand Prix is now under way. This is your chance to win prizes regardless of your pace, and to enjoy some friendly rivalry against all club members. The points system is largely unchanged for this year, and there are more than 20 races on our roster for you to take part in. All of them are also part of either the Cornish or Armada Grands Prix,so you could win three awards depending on how many races you complete. Find out more about the Grand Prix.
